1966 BMW 1600-2

This 1966 BMW 1600-2 is a European-market example originally delivered to importer Förenade Bil in Malmö, Sweden. It remained in Sweden until 2013, when it was exported to Germany and repainted in its factory color, Derby Grau (056), before being brought to the United States in 2017.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter M10 inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome bumpers, Bosch driving lights, an engine block heater, a tow ball, BMW-branded rear mudflaps, and 13″ steel wheels with chrome covers dated to 1966. The car is offered with an owner’s manual, BMW Classic Certificate, and service records.

This highly original example has been owned twice by the owner of Bond Group personally, who acquired it in 2017 and reacquired it in 2024. It is his 13th BMW 1600/2002 and stands out for its originality and documentation.

Early 1966 models feature unique trim elements, including the hood trim, mirrors, and badging—all of which are present and original on this car. The car retains its original body panels with no evidence of prior accident damage, along with its original vinyl interior and headliner. The toolkit, jack, and manuals are included.
